Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park

Our timing to visit Kruger was not so good because of South African school holidays and all the campsites in the park were fully booked. On the other hand it is rather entertaining to watch the South African’s put up camp with caravans, trailers, extensions, huge spotlights, T.V. dish, spitbraai etc. .Some of them drive to the ablution block a few meters away. Different campers then Namibians, apparently they are known as “glampers” (glamorous campers).
We were a bit disappointed with our game drives in the park but I guess this is because of the high expectations we all have from Kruger. We saw lots of elephants, buffalo’s, rhino and plains game but unfortunately no lion or leopard.
On our last day 5 cheetahs crossed the road in front of us but disappeared quickly in the tall grass. Luckily one of them jumped on a branch posing for a picture.
